14 Million Connections. 14 Million Stories. Backing Australian Ambition.

Behind every connection is a story, and Jamie Samaha’s is one of leadership, purpose and backing people.

Born and raised in Sydney, Jamie grew up in a Lebanese household in Coogee and describes his family’s story as a typical Australian migrant story, shaped by the opportunities Australia offered and the values of family, generosity and hard work.

Over more than 25 years, Jamie has built a reputation for helping organisations scale, transform and grow. From co-leading the sale of Australian business Pinpoint to Mastercard, to helping drive Prezzee’s international expansion across the United States, United Kingdom and Europe, and most recently guiding Reward through its successful sale, his career has been defined by growth, innovation and impact.

Today, Jamie is preparing to take on his next chapter as incoming Chief Executive Officer of dunnhumby, one of the world’s leading customer data science businesses. Yet what stands out most is not the organisations he has led, but how he thinks about leadership.

Throughout his career, Jamie has remained focused on creating opportunities for others. Whether building businesses, mentoring future leaders or supporting charitable causes, he believes success is ultimately measured by the impact we have on people.

Jamie also believes Australians bring something distinctive to the world.

"Everyone loves Australians. We have a sense of clarity, a sense of humour and we're grounded."

In a world increasingly defined by complexity and uncertainty, he believes Australia's ability to connect with people, lead authentically and build trust is one of our greatest strengths.

His advice to Australians looking to make an impact on the world stage?

"The question is not are we good enough. The question is are we good enough to actually put ourselves forward and take the opportunity."

Jamie's story reflects the best of Australian ambition — leading with authenticity, backing yourself when opportunity arises, and backing others along the way.

Story 8 of 14. Over 14 days, we're celebrating 14 extraordinary Australians whose journeys showcase Australian ambition and the power of our global connections.

As we approach the end of the financial year, we're also raising funds for the Global Australians Foundation, a DGR-endorsed charity helping disadvantaged Australians pursue their ambitions.

Because when Australians back Australians, extraordinary things happen. Go further together.
