Professor David Sinclair, A.O., Ph.D. is one of the worldʼs most influential biomedical scientists and a global leader in the field of ageing and longevity research. Born and educated in Sydney, Australia, David completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics at the University of New South Wales, before moving to the United States as a postdoctoral researcher at M.I.T.
Now based at Harvard Medical School, he serves as Professor in the Department of Genetics. His pioneering discoveries on genes and molecules that slow the effects of ageing—including the roles of sirtuins, NAD+ metabolism, and epigenetic reprogramming—have redefined our understanding of health and lifespan.
David is also a serial entrepreneur, co-founding multiple biotech companies focused on translating ageing science into therapies for metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular diseases. A passionate science communicator, he is the author of the international bestseller Lifespan: Why We Age – and Why We Donʼt Have To, and co-host of the acclaimed Lifespan podcast, which brings cutting-edge science to millions worldwide.
He has received numerous international honours, including recognition by TIME magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and one of the Top 50 People in Healthcare.
