Jennifer Robinson is one of the world’s most respected human rights lawyers and advocates. A barrister at Doughty Street Chambers in London, she has acted in key human rights and media freedom cases in domestic and international courts. Her diverse and groundbreaking work includes: representing Julian Assange and securing his release; successfully defending Amber Heard in the UK; achieving political asylum for West Papuan leader Benny Wenda; and taking climate change to the world’s highest court, the International Court of Justice.

Beyond the courts, Jen is an author (How Many More Women with Dr Keio Yoshida), a sought-after keynote speaker, and executive producer and consultant for television and film. She is an outspoken advocate for public education, having established the Acacia Awards to support and mentor Australian public-school students. She sits on the boards of the Grata Fund, the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Oxford University. She is the recipient of a number of awards including International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year in 2019 and shares the 2024 Marie Claire Powerhouse award with the Governor General Samantha Mostyn.
