Michelle Witton

UK ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER


Michelle Witton serves on the UK Advisory Board.

Michelle is an experienced corporate lawyer and theatre practitioner.

Graduating from Sydney University (BA.LLB), Michelle came to the UK to take up a scholarship to complete an M.Phil at Cambridge University. She has since completed studies in Sustainability and Management with Cambridge’s Sustainability Faculty and Business School and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Admitted to practice law in Australia and England, Michelle has extensive mining industry experience (working or consulting for Anglo American Plc, Rio Tinto Plc, BP). She was engaged as an Anti-corruption Panel Consultant by Transparency International (UK) and led anti-corruption projects for The Council of Europe in EU accession countries including Serbia, Ukraine, Montenegro and Moldova. On secondment from Linklaters, Michelle advised Saudi Arabian megacity construction entity, NEOM and is currently Senior ESG & Compliance Counsel with TikTok UK/Bytedance.

Michelle’s pro-bono legal work includes advising the Australian-Ukrainian community in advocacy to the Australian government - achieving significantly increasing Australia’s sanctions against Russia, London’s Actors Centre (2005 - 2008) and New Producers Alliance (2000 - 2008).

Active in theatre at Cambridge, Michelle graduated from the Guildford School of Acting and holds an MA in Drama from King’s London/RADA. She has produced and directed a number off West-End productions and is an active member of BAFTA.

Her passions include bringing people together and building community, reflected in establishing the UK Australian & New Zealand networking group, ANZL from 2013 to 2017.

She most enjoys hiking, volunteering on archaeology digs, travel and time with friends.
