14 Million Connections. 14 Million Stories. Backing Australian Ambition.
Behind every connection is a story, and Professor David Sinclair's is one of curiosity, courage and daring to think beyond what’s possible.
Growing up in Sydney, David’s fascination with life’s biggest questions began at just four years old, when a conversation with his grandmother about mortality sparked a lifelong determination to understand one of humanity’s greatest challenges.
By 18, he had set himself an audacious goal: to transform how we understand ageing and human health. He later moved to the United States, where he has spent more than 30 years pursuing that vision and building an extraordinary career spanning scientific discovery, entrepreneurship and global impact.
Today, he is one of the world’s leading biomedical scientists, a Professor at Harvard Medical School and a global pioneer in ageing and longevity research whose discoveries are changing how the world thinks about ageing, disease and human health.
His pioneering work on the biology of ageing has redefined our understanding of health and lifespan. He is also an entrepreneur and the author of the international bestselling book Lifespan: Why We Age – and Why We Don’t Have To, helping bring complex science to a global audience.
David has spoken about the confidence his Australian roots gave him to pursue bold ideas on the global stage. He believes Australia’s greatest strengths are our fearlessness, curiosity and willingness to take risks. His advice to Australians wanting to make a global impact is simple: “Take risks, be resilient and stick to your principles.”
Professor Sinclair’s story reflects the very best of Australian ambition — backing yourself, embracing bold ideas and using your talents to create a better future for generations to come.
