14 Million Connections. 14 Million Stories: Skye Maconachie

14 Million Connections. 14 Million Stories. Backing Australian Ambition.

Behind every connection is a story, and Skye Maconachie’s is one of compassion, courage and helping others find the opportunity to shine.

Originally from Cairns and now based in Vietnam, Skye has spent more than two decades working to support some of the world’s most vulnerable children, young people and families.

As co-CEO of Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, she leads programs that rescue children and women from human trafficking, provide long-term care and support, and advocate for systemic change to protect future generations.

What stood out most in our conversation was Skye’s belief in the power of opportunity.

As she shared: "There are incredible Australians making a difference both around the world and at home. The real opportunity is sharing what we learn, bringing together different perspectives and experiences, and using them to strengthen our communities. It's all about learning and growing together."

And what drives her work every day: "I have a very strong belief that everyone has the right to shine, but many people don't have the opportunity to do that."

Skye's contributions to society are a testament to her dedication to improving the lives of people around the world. Her work has impacted tens of thousands of people, and her passion for social work and advocacy is truly inspiring.

One of 14 stories celebrating the people, connections and communities that help Australia go further together.

Because when Australians back Australians, extraordinary things happen. Go further together.
